Raise Garage Floor Concrete

The garage conversion requires the floor to be raised to match the house so first job is to build a suspended floor.

Also called mudjacking or concrete raising a matrix of holes each about three inches in diameter is drilled into the concrete. The garage is an old structure 1946 made from cinderblock walls on a concrete floor. I would find the highest point of the existing concrete floor go 1 5 inches over that then raise the back of the floor enough to get pitch away from the house and to the garage doors. If the garage will still be used to store vehicles smooth the transition between the raised flooring surface and the outside driveway by installing threshold strips of the appropriate size. Clear the garage floor of everything and then clean the floor thoroughly.

Your concrete garage floor takes a lot of abuse from moisture oil drips chemical spills and road salt as it ages. Time to get building again. Applying a garage floor paint coating or covering will not only improve the way your floor looks but also protect it against stains and deterioration make it easier to clean and hide cracks and other surface problems. Then a slurry of sand gravel ash and water is injected into the holes.

If you have the height to raise the concrete floor 1 5 inches you can use a pea stone concrete mix and pour a new floor over the existing one. Garage floors are normally of almost the same level as driveways and there is every chance the dampness from surrounding areas could get into your garage.
