Like copper patina this forms due to weathering and the anti corrosive properties protect zinc downspouts from deterioration. Rheinzink conforms with astm b69 16 type 1 and type 2 for architectural rolled zinc. Pre weathered colours offer exceptional colour stability while developing the natural self protecting patina for which zinc is renowned. The pre patina layer must therefore be removed in advance.

The patina which develops as a result of weathering lends preweathered zinc gutter products their anti corrosive properties.
